Ria Bird is a Mexican-American singer, songwriter and DJ.

Ria Bird is a vocalist and DJ living for the last 10 years in New York City. With over 15 years of experience in performance and composition. Ria combines her myriad tastes and diverse musical upbringing across borders to play to many different crowds and parties across the U.S. from LA to Miami- and globally from Kenya & South Africa to Mexico, Guatemala, and beyond. From all types of House to Funk, Disco, Groove, Soul, World Music, Dreamy Poolside sets, and late night bangers with roots in Rock and Electronic, Ria has the passion and skill to bring people together through all types of music and dance. 

Ria is a Mexican-American second generation DJ whose father played the discotecas of Mexico in the 70s, imparting on her from a young age a seemingly inexhaustible enthusiasm for sharing a wide variety of music with the world. In her short tenure in New York City Ria has played and held residencies at some of the most prestigious clubs, venues, and festivals in the Greater New York area. 

Ria has DJed, written and performed alongside dozens of local and international DJs and musicians such as Justin Strauss, Chromeo, Eli Escobar, Junior Sanchez, Plastic Plates, Justin Miller, Moullinex, Maceoplex, DJ Tennis, Wax Motif, Desert Hearts, Salt Cathedral, Friendly Fires, Miami Horror, The Golden Pony, Twin Shadow, Dicky Trisco, Quantic, Chet Faker, Heathered Pearls, Tommie Sunshine, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Flight Facilities, and various members of Midnight Magic, Holy Ghost, Soulclap, Charles Bradley, Sharon Jones, The Rapture, LCD Soundsystem, and more. 

2018 saw Ria self-release her first EP, Love Safari, with Morgan Wiley (Midnight Magic/ Ex-Hercules & Love Affair) under the name 88 Palms which received radio play from KCRW, as well as Radiante FM and Aire Libre in Mexico. 

In 2020 Ria released “Inolvidable” her first Spanish crossover single in collaboration with Pato Watson and Michael Cheever to radio play across Mexico. She continues to write, record, perform, live, and tour in the US and internationally. 

Ria was the opening music programmer for Ponyboy NYC to critical acclaim from New York Times, New York Magazine, and Time Out.  Ria recently served as Entertainment Director for 1 Hotels and in 2024 moved to Joshua Tree, CA where she works as a music programer for hotel and hospitality clients globally.
